A British Man Encounters American Summers

Hot enough for ya? Laurence Brown moved from Britain to the US and found out what summer heat really is. He explains the difference between the two nations in his series Lost in the Pond. The US is very hot in the summer. Or at least most of it is. Where I live, it's not only ferociously hot, but also humid as any swamp. In other words, British heat waves ain't got nothing on America. In this video, he tells how he discovered the things Americans use to cool down. Europeans think they are crazy, but when you actually encounter the summer heat, they are lifesavers.

  1. Lol, Americans and their confidence.

You think America is hot ?
Try inland Queensland in February .... 47 degrees !
Which is nearly 117 in your degrees.

Here's a question, and please don't think me rude (but then again, you all did elect Trump) ... Why is the USA still using the Imperial system, a measuring system based on the size of an English king's foot, arm and thumb, while every other country except for Myanmar and Liberia uses the metric system ?
And Farenheit, I know it's not imperial, but still.

  2. The same reason we run our racehorses counter-clockwise, and drive on the right-hand side of the road, and put ketchup on damned near everything that isn't already drenched in cheese sauce.  We aren't like the rest of the world, and we're going to make good and sure the rest of the world knows it.
