The Deep-Sea Snail with an Iron Shell

The scaly-foot snail (Chrysomallon squamiferum) lives in deep hydrothermal vents in the Indian Ocean. It has its own suit of armor made of iron! That's a great way to protect yourself from predators, but so far, this snail is the only animal that can do it. (via Boing Boing)
