Travis Cunningham uses his children's toys to parody the cashiers at Aldi. I don't know where he lives, but it's different in my small town. The Aldi workers are efficient, but careful in placing groceries in a cart. The pretty much know all their customers. However, according to the responses to this video, my town is the exception. Some former workers say they are trained to throw groceries.
At Aldi in Australia the cashiers do not put stuff in the trolley. That is the customer's job. Then you wheel the trolley over to a bench where you put your groceries in your bags.
The cashiers don't "put" the stuff anywhere - they run it past the scanner then place it on the end of the counter where you have to grab it before they run out of space. There's only a small amount of room there, so you have to be on your toes grabbing stuff as fast as they can scan it.
My Aldi in the Houston area, like Miss Cellania's, has the scanners very close to the end of the counter; the cashiers place items into a cart, even if I did not shop with a cart. (I sometimes pick up just a few items, so I just carry a shopping bag through the store.)
ALDI cashiers put the stuff back in the cart??

Ah! Here, there is no "end of the counter," as the scanner is right at the end, like in the video. So everything goes into the cart.
