If you dice an onion on the regular, this video will make you cringe. At least the first few minutes of it. Do children not watch their parents cook anymore? I learned to dice an onion in three dimensions as a child, although it was slightly more dangerous because we didn't have a cutting board -Mom just held it in her hand and cut. Now I cut an onion almost like the chef at the end, although I never cut horizontally. I make those slices just before I cut the onion in half, so I am always cutting down toward the cutting board. Except for those first few slices, there's always a flat side down, which gives you both safety and efficiency. (via Digg)
