Human feet don't work all that well compared to those of other animals, which came about because we decided to walk upright on two feet that were already perfectly good for climbing trees. We've had to live with the consequences ever since. (via Digg)
Darwin and the laws of natural selection suggest that given enough time, our feet would have evolved and adapted to better support the new manner of locomotion. Perhaps we interfered with this process of evolution after we invented artificial feet ... a/k/a 'shoes'.

ReplyDeleteI sit here, foot wrapped in a bandage because of a trip while gardening. Long sturdy grasses that wouldn't tear. Bad feet! Bad feet!
