ATM

Yeah, it's a redundancy when you realize that ATM already has the word "machine" in the acronym, but people say "machine" anyway. PIN works the same way. Still, my favorite redundancy I hear all the time is "Where are you located at?" There are three words in that sentence that mean the same thing, and two can be dropped. "Where are you?" is sufficient. This comic is from Zack Weinersmith at Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.

  1. An ATMM?  Isn't that one of those gizmos where you have to enter your PINN
    (Personal Identification Number Number)?

  4. I've never heard anyone say "ATM machine" in this part of the world, although "pin number" is pretty standard.

  5. Where are you?
    Home.
    Where is that located?

"Where are you located at?" combines the two thereby saving time when the alien nazi reptile hit squad is catching up.
