100 Years of Dental Care

A hundred years ago, toothbrushes were made of boar bristles, and advertising was about bad breath. With he development of nylon bristles, the race was on to create a miracle toothpaste. There was ammoniated toothpaste, chlorophyll, flouristan, and finally, dental floss. I recall when toothpaste ads referred to getting rid of the "pink tinge" on your toothbrush because so many people had bleeding gums. We've come a long way since then, although I don't know many people who can afford to go to the dentist every six months. (via Tastefully Offensive)
