To celebrate working people and the labor movement, we all take a day off work. That is, everyone except for retail workers, caregivers, hospital staff, police, TV and radio people, emergency workers, restaurant workers, farmers, pilots, bus drivers, truck drivers, taxi drivers, and gig economy workers (like me). Come to think of it, the only people taking the day off are government workers (but not all of them) and bank tellers. My kids even have class today. Oh well. Happy Labor Day, anyway.
