Where You're Coming From

  1. I live in a country where the United Nations' dictates, and some activist's propaganda, have led to a rise of racism, mainly against the white European people that colonised these islands around 1830 ish.

And while I can sympathise with those who have a little of that native blood still in their veins, I can also see that taking some primitive cannibals from pretty much constant wars with other primitive cannibal tribes, and the shrinking of the losers heads (I kid you not) to what is now a modern society with hospitals, schools, police, a justice system, roads, airports, safe water, sanitation, democratic elections, and all the other first world niceties ... should be seen as a very nice thing to have happened.

Obviously your mileage may vary, but our indigenous people (well, they themselves only arrived in the 14th century, so hardly indigenous) would have killed themselves off, given enough time, just as they did the Moa, and about 1,745 other endemic species (citation needed) ... so the Europeans arriving actually saved their race.

The 'natives' of New Zealand, of whom I write, make up between 12 to 15% of the population, and all of them are half caste, with the last full blood Maori dying in the 1950s.

I'll finish off this history lesson from a different country with the fact that the New Zealand Maori, or at least those of them more invested in separatism, have a similar habit of dancing as the American Indians do, dressing up in their tribal outfits and stomping their feet, waving their arms, although it is more about war and killing than making it rain.
