Massimo, it's a joke in the US that any snow in the South will paralyze all travel, because we aren't used to it and are afraid to drive in it. Also, southern towns aren't equipped to remove snow from roads. And hardly anyone here lives within walking distance of a grocery store. So a forecast of snow will have everyone running to the store to buy milk, bread, and toilet paper because they may be stuck at the house for days.
