Back in the 1940s through 1960s there was a renowned polka band leader who went by the name of "Whoopee John" and was the second act to sign with Decca Records (their first artist was Bing Crosby, btw). His last name was also Wilfahrt; no relation to Fredolin "Fritz" Willfahrt, however.
Incidentally, Fritz was a well-known polka bandleader in the Wisconsin area (Equity Park is located in Pound WI, about 40 miles north of Green Bay WI), and died about five years ago at the age of 69.
