Why Did T Rex Have Such Tiny Arms?

While Tyrannosaurus rex was the badass of the Cretaceous Period, we get a kick out of poking fun at the dinosaur's tiny forelimbs. We wouldn't do that if it weren't long extinct. Those little "arms" weren't useful for much of anything as far as we know. Then again, we don't know everything about the animal.
