You’ve heard of glow worms, but did you ever know why they want to glow like that? It’s a predator thing. Moths like it, see. This gets a bit gruesome, because, you know, it’s a predator thing. The takeaway for us is that colonies of glow worms make dark caves look like they’re lit up with stars, 24 hours a day. (via

Wow, those strings of sticky "pearls" are pretty strong to support the struggling insect and the glow worm.
