Nock Hard

  1. The mother of my children made sure our little darlings were able to read and write before they went to school.

My own mother kept me home from school most of the first 5 school years, something to do with her abandonment issues post WWII in England ... possibly, who am I to speculate.

Anyway, although relatively intelligent, I grew up saying 'one, two, free' and such as ' I fink, therefore I am', although much less succinctly.

    Maternal care was sadly missing.

When I started mixing with other children around 11 years of age, not only did I start to learn how to socialise but also I was made aware of my ignorance regarding pronouncing 'th' in a word.

The cruelty of children and all that.

Revelation is very much like pronouncing a word you have only ever read and then saying it and someone corrects you with the proper pronunciation.

    Hyperbole was a good one.
Yes, you all probably heard it spoken first, but I was saying it to myself when I read it in books ... later saying it in company earned a few laughs ... at me, not with me.

Anyway, I don't mean to 'nock' anyone, but correct spelling and grammar are SO important, even the slightest mistake informs others of how mentally incompetent or uneducated you are.

    I still make them, lol.

    'NOCK, NOCK'

    'Who's there ?'

    'KAY'

    'Ah, been missing you'.
