This is the 1977 video for “Apache” by Danish musician Tommy Seebach. It just screams "1970!" doesn't it? A friend on a discussion group reminded me of the song, which I had posted years ago, but was lost.
You think there was an uproar over the supposed inappropriate/racist use of the name 'Cleveland Indians' or the 'Washington Redskins'? Check out those dancing 'Apache' maidens.
If anyone were to try doing something like this today, they'd be buried under lawsuits before the video even got done playing!!
I have no memory of this, but considering the year and the state of music at that time that's not a surprise. What I do know is that they really dumbed down a pretty famous song which was also meant as a true tribute to the Apache.

Also have to say that this has to be the worst example of 'finger synching' to a song that I've ever seen ... and that is truly saying something!
