If you're only going to eat 3-4 pancakes they obviously must be bigger than when you plan on eating 6-8 pancakes, in order to soak up the syrup which is after all the purpose of pancakes. xoxoxoBruce
I've always made them with a cup of mix and enough water to get the right consistency. Whatever size the cakes are, that fills my griddle. Then as they cook, I mix another cup of mix in the same pouring cup for the next batch in the same griddle, as many times as needed for the number of people eating.
Strangely, I'm the only one in the family that uses maple syrup. The rest use butter only, or fruit, or peanut butter, or honey on pancakes.
To be fair, they didn't specify the size.
