200 Years Ago Today

It was September 13, 1814, when the rebellious Americans defeated the British at the Battle of Baltimore. It wasn’t easy, as the British were throwing rockets at the Yanks! But those rockets gave us our national anthem, as the next morning, Francis Scott Key wrote a poem about seeing the American flag still standing while the rockets pummeled Fort McHenry.
