The Expert

There are business people and there are engineers. They almost never overlap, but occasionally they have to deal with each other. In this sketch, an engineer gets roped into attending a corporate business meeting, where he doesn’t quite fit in. He’s the expert. This scenario hits a chord with anyone who’s been in this situation. (via Daily Picks and Flicks

  1. Ha! So true.
I have to fly to London with management for a meeting next month that I imagine will go like this sketch.

We want your software to do everything, all at once, no matter how much data we throw at it in any given second. And oh yes, it must run on our old 20 year old systems that we have no intention of upgrading or enhancing because we don't want to budget for that.

  2. I'm sure it happens in every industry. In radio, the client would say, "Do you have to say it so fast? No, we can't cut the copy, we have to have all this information in there. No, we don't want to buy a 60 second ad, 30 is all we want to pay for. Can't you just read it slower? Forty seconds isn't going to hurt anyone."
