DeleteOne upside from the attack on science and funding in the US is that we (and many other countries) are welcoming researchers with open arms. Used to be that people went to the US for research positions and/or graduate studies but that is no longer the case and the US may not recover. You cannot lead the technology race when all the best players have left or aren't coming in the first place.
