Yes thankfully, until Kitty gets a credit card she depends on them but resents the humiliation of having to prostitute herself to ear scratches and belly rubs.
I am not a user of non prescription drugs myself, but I also have no desire to rule the entire world so I planted catnip in my garden. My survey shows that of the 6 cats that grace my home, only 3 spent hours on, and eating, the catnip plants, with the other 3 having a sniff and walking away. The breakdown showed no difference in desire regarding drug use between different coloured cats, with one of the gingers (feline version of a Labrador) squashing the plant entirely while the other ginger played cello. The short tabby and the darkness (father & daughter) both ignored the drug while the two tall tabbies, brother and sister rescued from a very unkind person, spent an enjoyable afternoon munching on the pungent plants. I spent $24 on 4 plants, each around 200mm high, but they were razed to stumps by the next day.
