I remember reading an article about why you sometimes have weird visual artifacts, if the subject is moving, while the camera is scanning. Cameras on phones scan, like scanners, they don't open an aperture lens to allow the entire picture to be captured in an instant. In short, the cat is not metamophizing into a horrible demon out of Stranger Things, intending to slaughter you and your entire town in the dead of the night.
