I remember when girls used to wear hipsters, think I was about 18 back then.
You have to be careful with sawdust for guinea pigs, and rabbits, a lot of trees (which is where saw dust ultimately comes from, if you don't know your basics yet) have aromatic oils in the wood, .... which can cause liver damage in your pet, thereby shortening your length of responsibility but also causing grief to the little darling. Also saw dust, or sawdust as it is really written, outside my house, has a warning in it's name ... dust ... which can cause breathing difficulties in your cavie and/or lagomorph (go on, look it up) So yeah, just use straw or hay as their bedding (go on, look up the difference between straw and hay)
I have said this before and I'll sit here while my number one cat silent meows at me, rabbits and the like are not good pets for young children, get them a play station or an iPod ... children under the age of, say 25, can and probably wil mishandle the wee mammals, ending up with them having a broken back or internal injuries. Not my belief, but god didn't make them with pick up handles for a reason, if you are going to have them as pets, do so as an observer only ... maybe the occasional pat or playing with their ears, none of the picking up you can do with a cat or a small dog, at least not until you have been trained in the correct method of supporting the wee animal as you do so ... again, they are not liquid like cats, they can easily break and you just can't take them back and get them fixed under warranty .... and the vet bills, unlike human health care (at least in modern grown up countries) are not free, but costalot (go on, look up that word too).
