The TV show Friday’s presented a mashup just after the presidential election of 1980 that used The Rocky Horror Picture Show as a platform for mocking the new Reagan administration. Here’s part two.
Always loved Rocky Horror. The guy that wrote it, Richard O'Brien, lives about 20 minutes away from my place. There is a statue of Riff Raff, basically him, in Hamilton, NZ.
Now I'll be singing Science Fiction, Double Feature all day long.
OMG I so remember this. Watched it live in a corner office in the West Wing of the White House with two nighttime secretaries. We were, to use a more modern term, ROFL our arses off. Thanks for the memories!
Fridays was a great show, I remember Michael Richards playing with his toys in a sandbox pre-Kramer days. I paid a fortune for two copies of Rocky Horror the day it was released on tape. Gave one to a chick that never said thank you. xoxoxoBruce
Nice one, MissC.
ReplyDeleteI saw Rocky Horror 67 times in various theaters, including The Waverly in Greenwich Village. A few times during Halloween on VH1.
A new Reagan administration and a presidential election in 1989? Hmmmm...
ReplyDeleteAn egregious typo! Thanks, I will fix that.
