You order a few dishes for takeout, and then when you get home, you find quite a few extras. Sometimes there are more extras than there is food that you ordered! I call BS on this video -my local Chinese restaurant never includes chopsticks. Of course, that may be a regional thing. I would not doubt that fewer Kentuckians use chopsticks than people in other states. (via Viral Viral Videos)
We used to each at a restaurant in Philly Chinatown two or three times a month and they always gave us chopsticks but we rarely got takeout. The one I get takeout from now in the burbs doesn't but will if you ask for them I stress if YOU ask for them, because the one time I asked when a friend was coming over to eat, The woman said, "what are you crazy, use a fork", while handing me a plastic fork. I've been going there a long time and good friends.
Here in upstate New York the Chinese take out places almost always include chopsticks. We have to remember to tell them not to give us any.

I can confirm that most Chinese restaurants in Seattle always put chopsticks in your take-out.
ReplyDeleteWe never ask for chopsticks because we have plenty at home, bigger, sturdier chopsticks.
ReplyDeleteKolo Jezdec, it would take you about five minutes to learn.
