How Not to Communicate With Your Professor

College is underway. Maybe it’s time to remind students that they are considered adults now, and should try to act like adults, especially when emailing a professor who has the power of A, B, and F over you. (via Digg)

Student Debt

John Oliver tells it like it is. Students are paying through the nose for college, and getting less value than a generation ago. I went to a very expensive college in the 1970s, and I graduated with a horrendous debt of $5,000, which I paid off in a few years at $50 a month.

Mrs. Flexer’s Surprise Party

After 41 years, first-grade teacher Mrs. Flexer is retiring. That’s 41 years of little kids she’s influenced, and they love her. With the help of the production team behind Kid President, former students of all ages gathered to throw Mrs. Flexer a surprise party. They gave testimonials of of how their teacher inspired them to future success. You can’t watch this without getting at least a little choked up. How many of us will be able to retire and see how many lives we’ve influenced for the better? (via Viral Viral Videos)

Surprise Graduations

Southern New Hampshire University had several students who could not attend their own graduation ceremony this spring because they were shipped out to military bases or followed their military spouses to new assignments. Instead, SNHU went to them, with surprise ceremonies and diplomas wherever they were. That wasn’t easy to do, but it was a touching gesture that meant a lot to the graduates who worked so hard for their degrees. (via the Presurfer)

Do You Wanna Go To Starbucks?

It’s crunch time for college students as finals loom and you are just now getting to all that studying you meant to do earlier. You need caffeine, and you also need an excuse to put the real work off just a few more minutes, so let’s go to Starbucks! Your invitation comes to the tune of “Do You Want to Build a Snbwman?” demo the Disney movie Frozen. Jené Nicole Johnson sang and Olivia Mowry filmed this music video at Point Loma Nazarene University. (via Viral Viral Videos)
