We know it is better to listen, but we are only human. It's easy to fall into the trap of dominating the conversation, to our later regret. I learned a long time ago at parties to just say things like Uh huh, Hmmmm.
Really? Well that's cool. And the next time I talk to the host I hear about what an interesting conversationalist I am.
