John Oliver on Scientific Studies

We all love science, and we love to read about new scientific breakthroughs. The problem is that by the time science gets to us, filtered through the media, it can be totally different from what really happened. What science do we hear about? The sensational stuff, whether it's accurate or not. The not-so-sensational stuff gets buried, or not funded at all. But it's those tiny little un-sexy increments in knowledge, providing a foundation to add more research to, that add to our overall understanding over time. John Oliver looks at the state of science and the media, on last night's episode of Last Week Tonight.
