Notice if you will, the juxtaposition of the normal and average home, with table and chairs, a sofa and side table for books, cups, knick knacks ... against the woman's act of fashion following in having a permanent tattoo of a Chinese style dragon or a Pacific Island tribal tattoo (both culturally appropriating).

I recall with horror my youngest offspring on his 18th birthday, showing me his very first and very new tattoo, a depiction of a 'Justice for All' music album cover art that was not duplicated well.

Perhaps I went on too much about the silliness of tattoos as versus the changing of fashion and tastes over the years, but I do not have a working time machine as yet, so things must rest where they are.

Thwarting my prediction spoken only to myself, that the last one out would become a drug addled imbecile, he went on to excel in sound and light and indeed you may well have watched or heard some of his work if you watch TV shows or movies made in New Zealand.

My own tattoo story is tepid, two friends and I were out on the streets of NZ's capitol a few years ago ... ok, I was about 15 so more than a 'few' ... we had been drinking heavily and were walking home (ha, too young to have driver's licenses but looking big enough and old enough to drink) and happened to pass a tattoo parlour, complete with neon signage and a seedy street backdrop.

Alcohol makes me laugh and sing, so I happily followed my friends in for a tattoo, but being a cheap date by the time they had had their (stupid) choices of inked design penetrated into and under their skin, I had sobered up enough to regain some semblance of intelligence and declined my own pure and perfect dermis getting scarred for life.

I got derided for my 'chickenness' back then for a while, but now, over 50 years later, guess who looks like the morons ?

Them, obviously .... one of them has a Tweety Bird on his shoulder.

I'm down to the five cats as of right now, lost Trip Factor (the Darkness) to UTI, so my happiness is depleted.

But I notice a grey furred cat has been hanging around the fenceline recently, so we shall see
