I did not think I could sit through 35 facts about Mr. Rogers, but this is full of stories about Fred Rogers that you probably haven't heard before. I never watched the show -wrong age group- but the more I know about him, the more I wish I had.

He forgot to mention zombies.

Mr Rogers gave a young film maker his first job. One of the things he filmed was an episode called 'Mr Rogers Tonsillectomy'. Mr Rogers was actually getting a tonsillectomy, so he made a film of it so that kids who might have to go through something similar could see what was involved and not be afraid. But making the film itself scared the wits out of the young film maker.

In an interview, George Romero said making that tonsillectomy film probably influenced him when he later made his first movie, The Night of the Living Dead.

So, indirectly, Mr Rogers influenced a film maker to make a series of Zombie films. In the same interview he said that he showed the movie to Mr Rogers, who said he enjoyed it but didn't recommend it for children.

Is John Green the guy that voice overs the "fine print" at the end of broadcast commercials?
