7 Amazing Natural Landmarks. Why yes, you can visit them!

Why I don't read directions.

Eddie Deezen has an action figure!

An Open Letter to National Geographic Channel. (via Unreality)

The Olympics Hall of Shame. While some get the gold, others were exposed for cheating, racism, drugs, and other embarrassments.

The 1930 film The Bat Whispers was the inspiration for the comic book hero Batman. Rob Hebert made a modern trailer out of footage from the 82-year-old movie that seems so familiar.

Did you see Dutch Olympian Epke Zonderland On The Men`s Horizontal Bar? He's awesome, and I hear he's studying to be a doctor in his spare time.

25 Advertisements By Dr. Seuss Before He Was Dr. Seuss. You can see drawings that would eventually become beloved children's book characters.

A deer walks into a family's home like he lives there. They don't really want him there, but he's got antlers, so he does as he pleases.

In space, no one can hear you scream -except for scientists who are listening for it. Signals detected from a star being torn apart by a black hole are the closest thing to a scream, but by the time we hear it, the damage is done.

Conjoined twins Abby And Brittany Hensel graduated from college and are thinking about their careers. Meanwhile, they will star in their own reality TV show.

I agree with the sentiment if not with his mode of expression of the letter write to National Geographic. I used to love A&E, the History Channel, Discovery and a few others. Now it's hoarders and ice road truckers and motorcycle choppers and pawn shops and god knows what other dreck. Oh, yeah. And The Learning Channel used to have some great educational stuff. I'll stick with The Daily Show.

Here's the thing: the National Geographic Channel is majority owned by News Corporation, not National Geographic. The magazine is owned and published by the National Geographic Society. Why NGS would so readily allow Mr. Murdock et al. to use their name I don't know (but let's just guess it's money). What the channel is producing is but loosely affiliated with the NGS. It's sad for us who love National Geographic.

I did not know that, Mr. Feynman. Thanks!
